The Digial Media Center – Official Launch Event
Tuesday, January 24, 2012

As New York has risen in prominence to become a leading global city for digital media and new technology start-ups, so too have risen a myriad of opportunities for companies throughout the digital ecosystem to network, attend presentations, and discuss topics of interest. This event volume shows that New York is achieving its vision of becoming the next great digital capital; these events are signs of success.

But with so many functions each week, it’s become impossible to stay on top of the event circuit. We all have significant responsibilities – both professional and personal. Executives have limited time available to attend workshops and cocktail parties. Time being precious, each event we attend must provide outstanding return on our time in the form of new insights, business opportunities, and professional connections.

So we decided to do something about that - Deloitte & Touche LLP, Silicon Valley Bank, NASDAQ OMX, Cooley LLP, and CTPartners – have joined forces to create a new kind of forum; the Digital Media Center is a premium networking and learning platform for both smaller emerging companies and larger, established members of the digital ecosystem.

Join us as we celebrate the official launch of the Digital Media Center, an innovation hub for the region’s dynamic and diverse digital media companies, at the NASDAQ MarketSite. The event will feature an interactive discussion among industry specialists followed by a networking reception where guests will have the opportunity to interact with industry peers.

Guest Speakers Include:

Andy Mitchell, Facebook
Ben Wolin, CEO, Everyday Health
Roger Keating, SVP Digital Media, Hearst Television
Jerry Neumann, Ad Tech Angel Investor
Eric Anderson, VP Content and Product Solutions, Samsung Electronics America
Kathleen Sullivan, CMO, Verizon Digital Media Services

This event is by invitation only.

Speaking Program and Interactive Discussion

Topics for discussion include pressing issues such as:

  • Make It Matter Proven strategies to make your business model matter. Too often, the new business model seems to just be about driving as much traffic as possible to a site – at any cost – and then figuring out how to make money. We’re here to discuss strategies to create exciting products to improve short-term profits while increasing the long-term sustainability of a business.
  • Content was King, Distribution is Queen Innovate by harnessing the credibility and emerging initiatives of network providers. Learn about network operators’ objectives and their new business models that will impact emerging companies — prepare your business to take advantage of infrastructure and bandwidth connectivity shifts.
  • Mobile + Media = SoLoMo Discuss new opportunities and brainstorm the future of the Social-Local-Mobile (SoLoMo) transformation in media, content delivery, and its impact on customer experience. The proliferation of mobile devices, GPS location services, and tens of thousands of apps are spawning new business models by the minute. Consumers and businesses can match people and products based on their locations.
