Listing at Our Exchanges

NASDAQ OMX is the world’s largest exchange company delivering trading, exchange technology and public company services across six continents. It is the premier choice for approximately 3,700 industry-leading companies from more than 50 countries representing all industry sectors.

We are the world’s largest:

IT industry exchange with a total market value over $2 trillion.
Biotech industry exchange with total market value nearly $270 billion.
Paper product industry (part of the materials sector) exchange with a total market value over $32 billion.

NASDAQ OMX operates a variety of listing platforms around the world to provide multiple global capital raising solutions for private and public companies and offer trading across multiple asset classes including equities, derivatives, debt, commodities, structured products and ETFs. Listing in foreign markets is a particularly complex undertaking due to differing regulatory regimes, applications and requirements — but one that global companies are finding more and more important as they seek to broaden their investment base to those areas of the world where they do business. Leveraging the scale and scope of our integrated global presence, our listed companies have the benefit of a relationship that seamlessly crosses borders — U.S., Europe and the Gulf region.

The NASDAQ OMX Global Listing Center provides companies with unsurpassed support from dedicated local listing experts who guide companies through the entire listing process on any NASDAQ OMX market — making listing on multiple markets worldwide easier than it has ever been. Through our consolidated global listing application, companies can cut through the bureaucracy and apply for listing on any NASDAQ OMX market; including The NASDAQ Stock Market, NASDAQ OMX Nordic, NASDAQ Dubai, and upon regulatory approval, our newest planned listing venue in London.

The NASDAQ Stock Market

The NASDAQ Stock Market is the fastest, most emulated market model worldwide. Approximately 2,800 companies from 37 countries and across all industry sectors are listed here. NASDAQ is the primary market for trading NASDAQ-listed stocks as well as a leading liquidity pool for trading NYSE-listed stocks. It trades more shares per day — about two-billion shares — and handles more IPOs — over 1,000 since 2000 — than any other U.S. exchange. NASDAQ delivers the highest regulatory integrity and a robust body of high-value services for companies at all stages of public ownership. 144A

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Rule 144A provides public and private companies with another option for effectively raising capital at a lower cost than traditional public U.S. offerings. Companies from all over the world have used Rule 144A to raise capital and increase their company’s profile with U.S. institutional investors including banks, savings and loan institutions, insurance companies, investment companies or employee benefits plans. With private placement capital in hand, companies have the time and flexibility to grow the business, evaluate options, gain experience and develop more accurate pricing, all of which can help lead to a more successful IPO.

NASDAQ OMX Nordic

NASDAQ OMX Nordic includes stock exchanges in Stockholm, Helsinki, Copenhagen and Iceland. Harmonization is achieved by sharing the same trading system, providing common listing and index structures, enabling efficient cross-border trading and settlement, offering cross-membership and providing one market source of information. NASDAQ OMX also offers robust products and services to its listed companies. Learn more about our Corporate Services for listed companies.

By utilizing a common trading system, harmonizing trading hours, rules and requirements between the exchanges, and offering an advanced delivery versus payment link, investors are able to trade and settle efficiently and seamlessly between the three markets.

NASDAQ OMX First North

First North is an alternative marketplace operated by NASDAQ OMX for small growth companies representing multiple industries and sizes. One of Europe’s leading growth markets, it provides companies all over the world with opportunities to raise capital from Nordic and Baltic institutional and retail investors. A first step toward listing on the regulated market, First North gives companies the benefit of increased transparency and public awareness of their activities and development. First North does not have the legal status as an EU-regulated market. Companies at First North are subject to the rules of First North and not the legal requirements for admission to trading on a regulated market. The risk in such an investment may be higher than on the main market.
